Add second-hand search to Gemini

Gemini stays the chat. Some Gemini products have an in-app connector or MCP setting; others expect a local config file. This page is the in-product path: add a server named Nexthand, paste the URL, start a new chat. If you are on a local MCP file instead, skip these steps and use the generic MCP recipe — same server name, same URL, different file.

What you get

  • Gemini searches second-hand marketplaces, including ship-to-you filtering
  • Follow-ups in the same Gemini chat
  • Market watch: the same search, later
  • When you want an item, you open it on the marketplace it came from

What you need

A Gemini product that can add an MCP server or custom connector.

MCP is the plug for that connector. You only touch it in the steps below.

Add Nexthand

  1. Open Gemini’s connector / MCP settings.
  2. Add a server named Nexthand.
  3. Paste your Nexthand MCP URL: YOUR_NEXTHAND_MCP_URL
  4. Start a new chat so Gemini can see the server.

If your Gemini app uses a local MCP config file instead, use the generic MCP recipe.

Verify

Ask Gemini to search for something that can ship to you, for example: “Find me a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to Barcelona.”
