Add second-hand search to Claude
Claude stays the chat. This page is the custom-connector path:
Claude Desktop, or any Claude product that can add an MCP server.
You paste a config named nexthand, start a new chat, and
ask for used listings that can ship to you. If tools do not appear,
restart Claude after saving — that is the usual miss, not a second
app to install.
What you get
- Claude searches second-hand marketplaces, including ship-to-you filtering
- Follow-ups in the same Claude chat
- Market watch: the same search, later
- When you want an item, you open it on the marketplace it came from
What you need
Claude with MCP (desktop or a Claude product that can add a custom connector).
MCP is the plug Claude uses to add a server. You only touch it in the steps below.
Add Nexthand
- Open Claude’s MCP / connector settings.
- Add a server named
nexthand. -
Use your Nexthand MCP URL (replace the placeholder):
{ "mcpServers": { "nexthand": { "url": "YOUR_NEXTHAND_MCP_URL" } } } - Save and start a new chat so Claude can see the server.
Verify
Ask Claude to search for something that can ship to you, for example: “Find me a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to Barcelona.”
Example prompts
- Find me a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to Barcelona.
- Only show results in excellent condition. Is this a good price?
- Watch for a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to me.
Troubleshooting
- If tools do not appear, restart Claude after saving the server.
- Confirm the MCP URL is reachable from the app you are using.
- If your Claude product uses Connectors instead of a config file, add Nexthand there with the same URL.
