Add second-hand search to ChatGPT
ChatGPT stays the chat. This page is the Connectors / Apps path — the setting that can attach an external MCP server, not a custom GPT and not a plugin store listing. You add Nexthand, enable it on a conversation, then ask for used listings that can ship to you. If your account cannot add custom connectors yet, use the generic MCP recipe in another agent rather than waiting on a ChatGPT-only button.
What you get
- ChatGPT searches second-hand marketplaces, including ship-to-you filtering
- Follow-ups in the same ChatGPT chat
- Market watch: the same search, later
- When you want an item, you open it on the marketplace it came from
What you need
ChatGPT with Connectors or Apps enabled (the path that can add an external MCP server).
MCP is the plug ChatGPT uses for that connector. You only see it when you paste the URL.
Add Nexthand
- Open ChatGPT settings for Connectors / Apps.
- Add a custom connector named Nexthand.
- Paste your Nexthand MCP URL:
YOUR_NEXTHAND_MCP_URL - Enable it for a new chat.
Verify
Ask ChatGPT to search for something that can ship to you, for example: “Find me a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to Barcelona.”
Example prompts
- Find me a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to Barcelona.
- Only show results in excellent condition. Is this a good price?
- Watch for a used Canon EOS R6 under €1,200 that ships to me.
Troubleshooting
- If Nexthand does not show up in the chat, turn the connector on for that conversation.
- Confirm the MCP URL is reachable from ChatGPT.
- If your ChatGPT account cannot add custom connectors yet, use the generic MCP recipe in another agent, or check back when that path is available to you.
